Hands-on Facilitator Training
Because there is such a need for massive education of our nation's citizens, we recommend that institutions and organizations train instructors to provide ongoing Healing Our Nation programs throughout the year. This is an economical way to educate large numbers of people and have the greatest flexibility for scheduling trainings. For example, each of our programs is designed to be taught in different formats. Level One is the most flexible. It can be presented over twelve weeks of 2.5 or 3 hours, over a semester offered three times a week for fifty-five minutes, or over four or five days.
Instructor training is available for Levels One, Two, Three, and Four programs. We also offer Facilitator Support programs to give additional support and to upgrade materials and program content.
Our facilitator training is thorough. All potential facilitators must take four levels of training. During each level, their skills and knowledge are observed. Our facilitator training is hands-on, as trainees practice presenting the program content to the other facilitator trainees.
Level One Instructor Training runs five days and is designed for a maximum of twelve participants.
Testimonials
Lillian Jones, Delaware Parent's Association, Director We have been working with the Healing Our Nation programs for more than five years. Their programs have been outstanding tools for change for our clientele. HON recently trained 12 additional people to present Level One training. Many of these experienced trainers said that the HON facilitator training was the best facilitator training that they had ever experienced.
Irene Atkinson, community facilitator, Kalamazoo, MI I have taken training in a number of well-reputed national programs addressing prejudice, as well as a number of local programs. Healing Our Nation's programs are by far the best I have participated in or been trained to facilitate. The programs are so well thought out and outlined, they flow even for first time facilitators.
