LEVEL 1: Understanding the Impact of Prejudice & Race LEVEL 2: Building Partnerships to Overcome Prejudice LEVEL 3: Strategic Planning to Overcome Racism LEVEL 4: Addressing Internalized Conditioning
We have specific instructor requirements to guarantee that an instructor is familiar with the program content and methodology and has done enough of their own personal work so that they can effectively work with others. We are also in the process of having our programs certified for continuing education units. The requirements listed below are necessary for continuing education certification.
A candidate must take Level One, Two, and Three programs and Instructor Training for Level One. Once candidates have successfully completed instructor training, they must present the program in a pro bono setting at least once. When applicable, a potential instructor can be paired with an experienced instructor who will coach him/her on the program presentation. Candidates must turn in evaluations from their pro bono participants in order for our staff to evaluate delivery of content. Upon a successful facilitation, candidates are given a one-year, temporary certification to present our programs. All candidates must then attend an annual facilitator support program to be updated on any program changes and to answer any facilitation questions. During candidates' one-year temporary certification, they are required to turn in participant evaluations to our office for the next four programs that they teach so that we can review their competency as instructors.
Upon determination that candidates have successfully presented our programs four times and have attended an annual Instructor Support program, the instructor is then certified to facilitate our programs for a particular audience--providing they continue to have successful evaluations and attend an Instructor Support program each year.
The requirements for becoming co-facilitators for a community include three levels of training: Level 1, 2, 3 followed by Facilitator Training for Level 1. It also requires that the facilitator be a member of a Network chapter and receive the endorsements of the facilitators of their Level 2 and Level 1 Facilitator Training courses.
