Creates the resources and supplies the organizational structure to provide affordable, on-going training to educate and organize people to overcome the Cycles of Conditioning that foster institutionalized prejudices such as racism and sexism.
A Network chapter can:
Provide a systematic approach for overcoming institutionalized prejudice Offer extensive, ongoing educational programs that change participants' hearts, attitudes, and behaviors Move people from complaining and describing issues to thoughtfully making change Overcome isolation and create a powerful network for change by connecting program graduates to each other locally and nationwide Harness the commitment and skills of program graduates to provide governance, educational trainers, financial support, and new students to continue the mission of overcoming prejudice Organize and support volunteers in such a way that volunteers don't suffer burn-out but are invigorated Reach well beyond the issues of prejudice, to the care of children Network, collect, and distill information nationwide from others who have found pitfalls or solutions to overcoming institutionalized oppression Offer hope in the midst of anger and despair
Network chapters have identified key jobs to further our mission.
We have identified the key jobs to thoughtfully support both the local chapter as well as the national HON Network. These key areas are: Program delivery of Levels One, Two, Three, and Four Facilitator development Support for graduates through reunions and action teams Fund-raising, grant writing, and financial management Marketing and networking, including use of the web Leadership support and development
