Building a national network
to overcome prejudice…
One heart at a time.

Healing Our Nation Network Chapters

Locally operated, not for profit organizations
Each chapter is a locally operated, not for profit organization that trains facilitators and presents programs that educate and organize local citizens to recognize and overcome prejudices that have become institutionalized within our communities and nation.

Three Main Areas of Focus
A chapter's programming has three main areas of focus in addressing prejudice:

  • Race and ethnicity
  • Gender
  • Class
Issues of religious prejudice, sexual identity, ageism, and physical differences are addressed in one or more of the three primary areas.

Four Levels of Training
Each focus area is addressed in a progression of four levels of training:
  • Level 1, understanding & recognition
  • Level 2, personal healing & individual action
  • Level 3, strategic planning & institutional change
  • Level 4, leadership development
Any community wishing to create a Healing Our Nation Network Chapter must go through the four levels of training, starting with the first area of focus, race and ethnicity.

Founding a  HON Network Chapter
  • Have forty-eight or more people from a community complete Level Three
  • Use our national bylaws to set up your chapter's governance to incorporate as a not-for-profit organization.
